Installation Instructions
Normal Installation:
-
Place the CD
in the drive. The installation script should begin. If it doesn’t, click
Start/Run/Browse and find SUMMIT – the CD drive – then click setup.exe.

Follow the
installation instructions. We recommend you accept the defaults.
Optional Hard-Drive
Installation:
-
Place the CD
in the drive. If the installation script begins (because auto run is
active), click Cancel and click Exit Setup to stop the normal
installation.

Start Windows
Explorer and create a folder (RIS CD, for example) to hold the contents of
the CD.
-
Click SUMMIT
– the CD-ROM drive.
-
Click Edit,
then click Select All. This selects all the files on the CD.

Click Edit,
then click Copy.
-
Click the
name of the folder you created in Step 2.
-
Click Edit,
then click Paste. The entire contents of the CD (about 730 Mbytes) will be
copied to your hard drive.

If you have a
Window XP operating system: In Windows Explorer, go to the folder you
created in step 2. Click on the nfo folder. Right click on the summit.nfo
file, left click on properties, at the bottom of the General tab, next to
Attributes, make sure that “read-only” is checked.

Double click
setup.exe (found in the root of the folder you created in Step 2) and
follow the installation instructions. We recommend you accept the
defaults.
Network
Installation:
-
Create a
folder (For example, SUMMIT_CD) on the server’s hard drive to hold the
contents of the CD.
-
Place the CD
in the server’s CD drive. If the installation script begins (because auto
run is active), click Cancel and click Exit Setup to abort the normal
installation.

Copy the
entire contents of the CD (about 730 Mbytes) to the CD image folder you
created in Step 1.

At each work station on
the network, double click setup.exe in the CD image folder and follow the
installation instructions. We recommend you accept the defaults.
