2.
How long will it take to ship my order?
In nearly all circumstances, Summit Aviation Inc.
ships orders the day that the order is received.
For customers in the United States, the "Regular"

for the first CD-ROM and first class mail for all updates. Unless you
request Overnight Delivery, you can expect to receive your first CD two to
three business days after placing your order.
For international customers, the "Regular" shipping
and handling charges include U.S. Postal Service Global Priority Mail for
all CD-ROMs. Please note that this service is not provided to some
international countries. In such instances, CD-ROMs will be sent by
Air Mail.
3.
Do you ship C.O.D.?
No. Summit Aviation does not offer
Cash-On-Delivery shipping.
4.
Do I have to pay sales tax?
Federal law does not require us to charge tax for
CD-ROMs shipped outside the state of Colorado; however, we are required to
charge sales tax to customers residing in Colorado (tax exempt
organizations, are, of course, tax exempt.)
5.

a full refund of the purchase price.
6.

Library into a word processor document or slide show presentation?
You may copy and paste short passages from the
electronic text into a word processor and publish works containing these
passages, provided that Summit Aviation Inc. is credited as the source of
the information. Please see the complete License Agreement for full
details.
7.
With which platforms is the Computerized Aviation Reference Library
compatible? Is it compatible with Macintosh?
The Computerized Aviation Reference Library is
compatible with all 32-bit Windows platforms, i.e., Windows 95, 98, 2000,
ME, and XP. The Computerized Aviation Reference Library may be run on
a Macintosh operating system by means of a windows emulation software
package provided by Apple.
8.
What do I do with my old CD when I get an updated CD?
Each CD is a stand-alone program and does not require
that a previous CD be installed in order to be used. When you receive
an updated CD you have one of two options: you may keep the older
version for archival purposes; or, if you choose not to keep the CD in your
archive, you must discard it.
It is a violation of the License Agreement to give
your old CDs to another person. If you wish to transfer your account
or subscription to another person you must transfer all copies of the CD in
your possession.
9.
Can I install the CD on a network?
Summit Aviation Inc. offers multi-user license
agreements for the Reference Library. Please call 1-800-328-6280 for
details and pricing.
10.
Can information be printed from the Computerized Aviation Reference
Library?
Information in the Reference Library can be printed by
Selection, Record, or Section. It is even possible to print the entire
contents of the CD-ROM. However, the information in the Reference
Library has been optimized for viewing in an electronic format which does
not always translate seamlessly back into a hard copy format.
Therefore, we recommend that only short passages or sections are printed for
reference.
11.
How do I Copy and Paste figures and/or graphics from Computerized
Aviation Reference Library into Microsoft Word?
Many word processing programs, such as Microsoft Word,
require a "Paste Special" operation to be used when pasting a graphic or
figure.
To Copy and Paste a figure:
a) Single-click the graphic. This will place a
large blinking cursor to the left of the figure. On the keyboard, hold
down Shift and the right cursor arrow. This will "select" the figure
by placing a large box around the figure with smaller boxes at the corners.
b) Copy the figure by selecting "Copy" from the "Edit"
menu. (You may also use Ctrl-C as per normal Windows operations.)
c) Go to Microsoft Word and place the cursor where you
would like the picture to appear. Select "Paste Special" from the
"Edit" menu.
d) In the "Paste Special" dialog box, when asked to
select the type of file, choose bitmap and select "OK." The figure will be
pasted into your Word document.
Although this procedure is specific to Microsoft Word,
other word processing and business application programs have similar
operations.
12.
Where to a find a Table of Contents?
The Folio Views Infobase search engine provides the
Reference Library with an interactive table of contents. To view the
table of contents for the entire library, click on the "Contents" tab at the
bottom of the screen.
The Contents view is structured much like a Windows
Explorer environment, allowing you to expand, or "drill down," by clicking
on the plus signs to see more information.
The Contents view can be combined with the Document
view by clicking on the Browse tab.
13.
When I move the scroll bar just a little the cursor seems to jump
inordinately far, even to another publication. Why?
The scroll bar is a function of the Windows platform.
Since the Computerized Aviation Reference Library contains over 30,000 pages
of text, a small movement in the scroll bar will actually produce a huge
jump in the actual text.
We recommend using the "Page Up" and "Page Down" keys
on the keyboard to navigate, when appropriate.
14.
Does the Computerized Aviation Reference Library include Service
Bulletins?
At the present time the Computerized Aviation
Reference Library contains solely information that is published by the FAA.
Since the Service Bulletins are copyrighted by the respective aircraft
manufacturers, they are included only by reference in the Library.
15.
What should I do if I find a error in the Computerized Aviation
Reference Library?
Summit Aviation is committed to providing the most
up-to-date and accurate information possible. However, given the
amount and complexity of the information on the Computerized Aviation
Reference Library, it is impossible to guarantee 100% accuracy.
If a typographical error or other inaccuracy is found,
please contact us immediately by phone at 1-800-328-6280 or by email at
info@summitaviation.com.
Please be as specific as possible as to where the error is located
(publication, section, chapter, paragraph, subparagraph, etc.) and in which
edition of the Reference Library the error was found.
16.
What’s the quickest way to find out what has changed on the CD? How
do I know what is new?
New or updated information can be found by going to
the "What's New?" section of the Reference Library or by searching the
Reference Library using the Query Wizard.
To find "What's New?" click on the grey "What's New?"
button at the top of the Reference Library directly beneath the Summit
Aviation Inc. logo and the "Click here to try the new Query Wizard."
In addition, each record (paragraph) that has changed
on each CD-ROM has been identified with a code indicating that the record
contains new or changed information. This identifier can be searched
for by going to the Query Wizard and searching for "New-2002-(bi-weekly
number)." For example, to find all the changes on the Bi-weekly #24
CD-ROM, search for "new-2002-24."
This search can also be combined with wild card
characters, i.e., "new-2002-*" would find all changes made in 2002.
17.
I would like to suggest that you add a publication to your Reference
Library, how can I do this?
Please contact us with any publications that you would
like to see added to the Reference Library at
info@summitaviation.com.
We are happy to consider any publications as additions.
In this email, please give as much information as
possible about the publication. For example, which areas of the
aviation industry would use it, where a copy of the publication can be
obtained, how large the publication is, etc.
